Choosing a Website Developer in Dubai: What Real Estate and Business Owners Should Actually Look For

Dubai has no shortage of website developers, agencies and freelancers, and a search for "website developer Dubai" will return a wall of near-identical portfolios. If you're a real estate developer, hospitality brand or business owner trying to pick one, the portfolio alone doesn't tell you much. Here's what actually matters.

Do they understand your industry, not just your brief

A website for a real estate developer isn't just "a website" — it needs to handle multiple property brands, listings that change, inquiry flows that actually route to sales, and a level of visual polish that matches the property itself. A developer who's built for real estate before will ask different questions than one who's only ever built restaurant sites. Ask to see work in your specific industry, not just work in general.

Can they show you a live site, not just a screenshot

Screenshots can hide a lot — slow load times, broken mobile layouts, forms that don't actually send anywhere. Before hiring, ask for at least one live link you can open on your own phone. If a developer's portfolio is all static images with no live sites, that's worth asking about directly.

Do they build for search, not just for looks

A beautiful website that nobody finds isn't doing its job. Ask how the developer handles SEO — page titles, meta descriptions, structured data, sitemap, page speed. This shouldn't be an afterthought bolted on at the end; it should be part of how the site is built from the start.

Do they move at the speed your business actually needs

Property listings, awards platforms, ERP rollouts — UAE businesses often move fast, and a developer who takes months to ship a first version isn't going to keep up. Ask about their actual process and tooling. Developers building with modern AI-assisted workflows can typically iterate significantly faster than a traditional agency process, without cutting corners on quality — that's worth asking about directly.

What I'd tell you if you asked me

I build real estate, hospitality and ERP websites for UAE businesses using Next.js, Odoo and modern AI-assisted development tooling, with SEO built in from day one, not added later. If that's what you're looking for, my contact details are on this site.
